Ian Middleton Poetry Competition
12 & Under
One or more verses of a POEM to be written in Doric.
It may be on any subject BUT must be the pupil’s own work.
Maximum of 2 entries per person, per competition.
Entry must not have been entered into another competition prior to this Competition.
Entries should specifically be written for this year’s competition.
Charles Murray Competition
Inter-generational
A poem or prose jointly written by people of different generations in Scots.
Children (young or old) should enlist the help of anyone from a different generation ie parents, grandparents, uncles , aunties, cousins or even friends to help the passing on of the Scots language through generations.
Poem or prose to be written by 2 generations.
Maximum of 2 entries per person, per competition.
It may be on any subject BUT must be the entrant’s own work.
Entry must not have been entered into another competition prior to this Competition.
Entries should specifically be written for this year’s competition.
The winners will receive the beautiful silver salver with a lovely image of Charles Murray etched on the front (designed by local artist Joyce Thain) and donated by local business woman Marguerite Cruickshank from Mither Tongue.
The Aultgowrie Poetry Competition
Any Adult or Secondary Aged Young Person

Open
A composition of any Scottish tune of your choice. Only one entry per person and it must be an original composition written specifically for this competition.
